Nova - Tillman set to square off

Chris Tillman has been a revelation for the Orioles in July. With a pitching staff that was in shambles, Tillman has become a stabilizing force.

The 24-year-old Tillman is 2-1 with a 2.70 ERA in three starts since being recalled from Double-A Bowie on July 16. He also allowed only two runs (zero earned) over 8 2/3 innings against the Mariners on July 4.

But Tillman has yet to pitch against a team with a dominating offense. That will change Tuesday night when he takes the hill for the Orioles against the American League East-leading Yankees in the Bronx. Tillman's three wins this season have come against Seattle, Cleveland and Tampa Bay.

In his last outing, against the Rays, Tillman allowed two runs on five hits over six innings, while striking out five and walking four. He has won back-to-back outings for the first time in his four-year career.
